How it's made - a Qualatex balloon

Thought we'd have a little fun this month and show you how balloons are made. I love how the neck of a balloon is done - ingenious! Don't forget to check our Facebook page - Let's Party Lismore! I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Training Day!

At the end of August, I presented for the first time at a training day held by BASA in Brisbane. I presented the rainbow topiary (shown) and a raceday centrepiece. After a busy day of teaching/learning, we (trainers & participants) put together decor for our psycodelic hippy night! With neon balloons flouresed by a black light - we had a great weekend!

We're Back!

It's been a few months since I last wrote a blog. The good news is - we've been busy getting Costumes out and helping people celebrate! So, it's time for a little update I feel! As you may know we've moved the shop to Dawson Street and added costume hire. Since moving, we've helped people celebrate many a birthday, wedding, halloween and race day and we're about to head into school formals. Most recently, we sponsored (with decorations) the Summerland Sunrise Rotary Club's annual Breakfast to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation in the Northern Rivers. We were looking at something upbeat that Celebrated Life instead of dwelling on the sadder side of breast cancer. I think you'll agree that our centrepiece certainly met the mark. Hope to see you all soon - come and visit - if only to see our new shop!

08 June 2010

Hi guys, it's that time again!
Lismore now has an Internationally Accredited Balloon Artist in it's midst! Yes, I passed my final exams and now hold the title of a CBA (Certified Balloon Artist). This took me quite a while to achieve by completing 3 written exams and finally the practical exam including a 15 minute interview asking questions from the mass of information required to pass the first 3 exams.
On the decorating front, we had the pleasure of working with Katie O'Rourke from Cake Marketing with the Sex and the City 2 Opening Night Fundraiser that has raised over $3000.00 for the Far North Coast Cancer Council. Congratulations once again Katie!
For all the brides to be or anyone else who wants to come; don't forget to join us at the 2010 Lismore Bridal Fair to be held on Sunday, 20th June at the Workers Sports Club, Goonellabah! We'll be presenting a few new designs for those special occassions - so put it in the diary!
Have a great Day!

Wedding Decor

This past weekend we had the pleasure of working alongside Byron Bay Weddings and Events and a few others. We were asked to transform the basketball stadium at Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic Centre into a glamorous reception for 600 guests. We used approx. 900 balloons and numerous heart shaped foil balloons to add a touch of romance. From inflating the first balloon to the finished product took two and a half days but well worth the effort. I think you'll agree that it didn't look like a double basketball court by the end. Needless to say we're a little proud of our work!

Welcome to Let's Party Lismore!

Well, this is my first post on my new blog. I'm looking forward to bringing you updates on new products, what's happening with the business and to show you some of the work we've done. On the business side of things; I'm busily studying for my CBA. What's a CBA you ask? Certified Balloon Artist! It's an International accreditation for balloon artists. I've already completed 3 written exams and I'm sitting my final practical exam at the end of May, so cross your fingers for me. How about we start with one of our lastest jobs as an introduction to some of our decor. The Lismore Square Retailer Awards Night. The theme for the evening was the Great Gatsby! We've used a new balloon on the market by Premier Balloons - French Ivy. It's a great balloon for this era or for Weddings. Hope you enjoy this space as we grow and add a new dimension to our business.
